There’s a lot of hype for the peak safari season aka great migration safari season in East Africa… but the low season? It’s a truly undiscovered gem. Budget-friendly. Uncrowded. Refreshing. Peaceful. Beautiful… and just so much more authentic. Really. You don’t want to miss out.
There are two off-peak seasons. First, from March to June. Second, Novemebr to December.
March to June. The period for long rains. April and May are the wettest. Visitors get to enjoy lower costs, and stunning views. You can expect to see sharp sunsets—and animals with their young ones.
November to December. The period of short rains. Afternoon and evening showers are frequent, and you’ll see sunshine during the early hours of the day. So game viewing is still there. It’s the perfect safari time for photographers and nature enthusiasts alike.
Though most tour companies usually suggest visiting during the peak season, the advantages of a green season safari will definitely convince you otherwise. In fact, one of my favorite months for an East Africa safari experience is May! Here is why:-
