Northern Tanzania Highlight Safari

You will be met upon arrival in JRO by your lodge’s transfer driver and transferred to your hotel located within 15 minutes from the airport.

Today, after breakfast, we drive to Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch; the park is renowned for its large elephant population. Game drives in the park.

Another game drive safari in Tarangire; then we drive to overnight in Ngorongoro Highlands later in the day.

Drive towards Ngorongoro (approx. 20mins); after registration at the gate, enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and drive for about 30 minutes before entering the descending gate of the Crater. Game drives safari in the Crater, exploring the short-grass plains of the crater floor. This extinct volcano embraces 100sq miles alive with lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, buffalo, and many more games. Later in the day, we drive to overnight in Serengeti.

We will spend the next two days enjoying game drives in the Seronera, exploring the rolling plains of Serengeti National Park in search of the large predators and the gentle herbivores on which they feed. 

After breakfast, we will have another game drive in Serengeti and then overnight in Lake Manyara with an optional visit to a Masai Village ($60/vehicle) and an optional visit to Olduvai Gorge ($20/person).

Alternatively, instead of game drive safari in Manyara:

After breakfast, we drive to the nearby Mto wa Mbu area (7kms from Manyara park’s gate) to do an approximately two-hour cultural tour. The tour includes visiting banana/rice plantations and walking safari with traditional healers who will explain the medicinal values of the indigenous plants. 

We will drive back to Arusha and proceed to Airport Planet Lodge, where we will stop to freshen up before moving to the airport for your evening/night flight back home.
