Two experiences in one stop
Reptiles and Maasai culture rarely share a single visit, but together they cover a lot in a couple of hours.
Wildlife experience
A two-to-three-hour stop west of Arusha: a close look at East Africa's snakes and reptiles, then a visit to a traditional Maasai boma.
Stop Overview
Meserani Snake Park pairs two experiences that don’t usually share a visit: a collection of East African snakes, crocodiles, tortoises, and other reptiles, and a Maasai cultural museum built around a traditional boma. The reptile side gives you a safe look at animals you’d almost never see this closely in the wild.
For many guests the cultural side is very memorable. You learn about Maasai customs, traditional homes, and pastoral life, with a dance performance. Because the park sits on the road toward Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro, it works best as a stop along that drive rather than a separate trip from the city.

Location and best time
Meserani sits on the main road west of Arusha, the route most safaris take toward Lake Manyara and the northern parks. The reptile exhibits are open year-round, and the outdoor boma visit is easiest in the drier months.
The boma visit is outdoors, so heavy rain in March to May can make it muddier
Travel responsibly
The boma visit brings you into a real Maasai community’s daily life, so a respectful approach matters here more than at most stops.
